Privacy policy
An account is required. What you write is sent to our servers to create your reflection and prayer. We don't sell your data and we don't show ads inside the app. You can delete your account in the app at any time.
Last updated: . Applies to the Bible Immerse mobile app (Android and iOS) and this website, provided by Civitas Signals LLC, 4539 N 22nd St, Ste N, Phoenix, AZ 85016 ("Civitas Signals", "we", "us").
1. What we collect
- What you share in the app: the text you type when you share how you feel, or a short recording if you speak. The recording is sent so it can be turned into text, and we do not keep it after that. We also hold the emotion detected from what you share, and the verse, reflection and prayer we generate. This can be personal and may reveal religious beliefs or emotional state. We treat it as sensitive.
- Your feedback: thumbs up or down, and any notes you add.
- Companion content: plans and the notes you give them, favorites, prayer journal entries and devotional progress.
- Your account: we store your first name. Firebase Authentication (Google) holds your email and password so you can sign in. We do not keep your password in our own database.
- Subscription status: whether Companion is active. Payment is handled by Google Play on Android and the Apple App Store on iOS; we do not receive your card number.
- Diagnostics: crash reports and basic device information (device model, OS version, app version) collected through Firebase Crashlytics.
- On this website: if you choose "Allow analytics", we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which of our own ads or links brought you here. It uses cookies and collects your approximate location, device and browser type. It never receives anything you write in the app. You can say no and the site works the same. We do not use your visits for advertising, and we do not build advertising audiences from them. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and time of request) for security.
2. How we use it
- To provide the app: detect emotion, choose a verse, generate your reflection, prayer, plans and devotionals.
- To improve verse selection from your feedback.
- To provide history, favorites, prayer journal and Plans if you use Companion.
- To keep the service secure, fix crashes, and prevent abuse (for example daily usage limits).
- To answer your support and privacy requests.
We do not use your content for advertising, and we do not sell it.
3. Who we share it with
- Google Cloud hosts our servers and database (United States).
- OpenAI receives the text you share, and the recording if you speak, so it can turn speech into text and write your reflection, prayer and plan content. Under OpenAI's API terms, content sent through the API is not used to train OpenAI's models unless the account owner opts in, and we have not opted in. OpenAI may keep the text it receives, and the reply, in abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, and longer only if the law or a safety investigation requires it. We do not ask OpenAI to store your content as application data.
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google) receives crash and diagnostic data.
- Google Analytics and Firebase Analytics (Google) receive anonymous usage events such as which screens are opened and whether a reflection was completed. They never receive the text you share, your detected emotion, verses, prayers or plans.
- Google Play and the Apple App Store process payments and subscriptions on Android and iOS. We use their billing systems directly and do not use a separate subscription service. We receive only whether your subscription is active.
- Legal and safety: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect people's safety.
- Business transfer: if the app is sold or merged, data may transfer under this policy.
4. Sensitive information
What you write may reveal religious beliefs or emotional and mental health states. We use it only to run the app as described, and we ask you not to share information you are not comfortable having processed this way.
5. How long we keep it
When you delete your account in the app, we delete your sign-in and the data stored with it right away. We do not keep a separate copy of your reflections, prayers, or account. The database keeps prior versions of a document for one hour and has no longer backup. Request logs record the time and address of a call and never include what you write; those logs are kept for 30 days. Crash reports are kept for a limited period by Firebase. See Delete my data.
6. Your choices and rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, or to export it, by emailing support@civitassignals.com. Depending on where you live (for example California or Washington), you may have additional rights, including to know what we hold and to appeal a refusal. We will respond within the time the law requires. We do not discriminate against people who exercise their rights.
7. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our servers and database. No system is perfectly secure.
8. Children
Bible Immerse is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe someone under 18 has used the app, contact us and we will delete the data.
Reflections and prayers are written with help from OpenAI. How that works.
9. International users
Our servers are in the United States. By using the app you understand your data is processed there.
10. Changes
If we change this policy in a meaningful way we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
